As part of the Eco Schools programme, children were asked to produce an Eco Code to show the 'Green' principles of their school so Mr Gurney, our Eco leader, held a competition. Children could produce a poster, a poem, a piece of writing or a song. The judging was difficult but two winners were finally selected — Lilia N (Y3/4) produced a poster showing the Eco values and aims of the school and Kaitlyn N (Y5/6) wrote a song. Mrs Sutton, our Music Leader, has promised that Kaitlyn's song will be taught to the whole school and keep your eyes peeled for Lilia’s poster as it goes on display around the building.
Jack P (Y2) has been busy organising litter picks around the school and invited children to take part in his ’Keep Lyppard Tidy’ poster competition. Choosing between the many entries was difficult for Mr Gurney, but the winner is Jamie L (Y2) for his fantastic poster showing that rats can be attracted to litter left lying around!
