Our Year 6 children had another action-packed day in the capital yesterday. After a hearty cooked breakfast, they headed off for a flight on the London Eye. Despite slightly overcast skies, the views were spectacular. After lunch in Jubilee Gardens the children enjoyed a trip down the river from Westminster to Greenwich, where they went on to visit the Cutty Sark. An evening meal at Pizza Express was followed by the evening performance of The Lion King. The children are reported to have been 'awestruck' and staff were hugely impressed with the children's behaviour before, during and after the show. Needless to say, all were well and truly ready for bed by the time they returned to their hotel at the end of a very long day.
All the children (and adults) slept well - indeed a few were reluctant to get up this morning. After breakfast and packing, the group are visiting the Houses of Parliament for a guided tour and workshops on democracy.
