Each week we organise lessons involving a range of activities, which are taught on a modular basis. Every child can expect at least 2 hours of quality PE each week on average. This range includes gymnastics, games, dance, athletics, orienteering, swimming (Years 3 and 4) and adventure activities. In all of these, the children try to improve on their own personal performances but there are also opportunities for competition against each other or occasionally children from other schools.
Competition is intrinsic to many aspects of sport. We acknowledge this but ensure that it is not overly emphasised so that positive attitudes towards sport are promoted. We hope our children will develop enthusiasm for physical activities, which will enable them to keep fit but also bring them a great deal of satisfaction in their leisure time in later life. We are currently part of the Worcester School Sport Partnership and participate in a range of sports activities and festivals with local schools.
