Homework due Wednesday 2nd March.
Make sure that you are reading everyday.
You could read a physical book or you could use Bug Club.
It is important that any reading you do is recorded in your reading journal but most important of all, try to read to enjoy the power and magic of a good book.
Who could you read to today? Who could read to you?
Practise the times table we have given you. You must be able to recall it out of order and within five seconds. You will need to be able to complete both multiplication and division questions for your given times table. Make sure you're ready for the challenge!
Part of your homework is to log on to TTRockstars to help with learning your tables, YOU NEED TO DO THIS FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES EVERYDAY. As usual there is a Battle of the Bands between 3HB and 3SG. Who will win this week? Will it be 3HB or 3SG?
Maths- The Chunking Method
In maths this week, we have been learning a new written method for division called the Chunking Method. It makes it easier when trying to divide a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number.
Your homework is to complete the calculations on the sheet attached below using the chunking method. There is an optional extra challenge for those who would like to try something trickier. You can either print out the sheet or write the calculations into your homework book.
If you can't remember how to use the chunking method then you can find a video in the Year 3 section of the Video Resource Centre on the school website, there are 26+ videos in this section and it is right at the bottom and is entitled 'The Chunking Method Explained'.
We will go through the answers together after half-term. But if you need any help before then ask you class teacher before Wednesday 3rd.
