Homework due Wednesday 9th February.
Reading
Please read every day. This could be a physical book or an online book using Bug Club. Record your reading in your reading journal, this includes any reading you might do on Bug Club.
Maths Challenge
Practise the times table we have given you. You must be able to recall it out of order and within five seconds. You will need to be able to complete both multiplication and division questions for your given times table. Make sure you're ready for the challenge!
Part of your homework is to log on to TTRockstars to help with learning your tables. As usual there is a Battle of the Bands between 3HB and 3SG. Who will win this week? Will it be 3HB or 3SG?
Also look out for the whole School Battle of the Bands - maybe one of the Year 3 classes can beat Year 6! Its all about Team Work!
Maths- The Grid Method
In maths this week, we have been learning a new written method for multiplication called the Grid Method. It makes it easier when trying to multiply a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number.
Your homework is to complete the calculations on the sheet attached below using the grid method. There is an optional extra challenge for those who would like to try something trickier. You can either print out the sheet or write the calculations into your homework book.
If you can't remember how to use the grid method then you can find a video in the Year 3 section of the Video Resource Centre on the school website, there are 26+ videos in this section and it is right at the bottom and is entitled 'The Grid Method Explained'.
We will go through the answers together next week. But if you need any help before then ask you class teacher before Wednesday.
