Thursday was a fabulous day in the capital. We spent the day in glorious sunshine, enjoying a wonderful flight on the London Eye. Clear skies meant the views were long reaching. A number of children overcame their fears and embraced the opportunity!
A quick walk over Westminster Bridge and we headed to board a boat for a cruise down to Greenwich. Bright sunshine and a gentle breeze made the trip all the more enjoyable. At Greenwich we took a tour of the Cutty Sark and imagined life aboard the famous tea clipper.
For many, the highlight of the day was The School of Rock. The show was spectacular and all enjoyed the chance to rock with the cast!
A very full day ended when we returned to our accommodation on the stroke of midnight.
Friday was a very early start, made easier with another hearty breakfast. Super fast packing meant we were onto the coach swiftly, heading to the Palace of Westminster for a tour of the Houses of Parliament. What a day to visit - the day Prime Minister, Mrs May, resigned. The children went into both the Lords and the Commons and then enjoyed workshops followed by a Q&A with Lord Grade. Lunch in Victoria gardens finished our grand visit to London.
