School Uniform - Other Relevant Information

Lost Property
One drawback of a school uniform is finding the owner of lost property. Please make sure that every item of clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name, even vest, pants and socks - especially important when we go swimming! Lost property is always a problem and can prove very expensive. Like you, we encourage the children to look after their own belongings but inevitably things go astray from time to time. Most lost items will either be found in the cloakrooms or drawers.
Personal Belongings
Please do not allow your child to bring valuable or treasured items into school as these can easily be lost or damaged. Jewellery is not suitable for school but children who need to wear earrings are advised to wear studs. These need to be removed or taped during PE sessions. It is also inappropriate for children to wear nail varnish or make-up.
Hair
Children should not attend school with extreme hairstyles/colouring and ‘tram lines’ and other shaved patterns are particularly discouraged. Long hair for both girls and boys should be tied back with appropriate ‘bobbles’ or hair bands.
