Autumn

Welcome to Autumn!

What a fantastic start to the year we have had! We have been completely immersed in chocolate as we explored our class text, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Our learning has been full of creativity, discovery and, of course, lots of chocolate-inspired fun!

In Geography, we have been exploring where our food comes from and discovering how different foods travel from around the world to reach our plates. In Science, we have been learning about healthy, balanced diets and the seven nutrient groups, helping us to understand how food provides our bodies with the energy and nutrients we need to stay healthy.

In Maths, we have been developing our addition and subtraction skills using a formal written method, working hard to show our calculations clearly and accurately. In English, we have been using our imaginations to write a vivid setting description of the Children's Chocolate Room, bringing Willy Wonka's extraordinary world to life through carefully chosen vocabulary and exciting descriptive techniques.

Our learning has continued into Design and Technology, where we have been baking healthy cakes, using our knowledge of nutrition to make thoughtful ingredient choices. In Art, we have been exploring repeated patterns and designing our own eye-catching creations.

One of our biggest highlights has been working towards an exciting reward! The children have been completing challenges, showing determination and demonstrating our school values to earn their Golden Tickets. Their hard work and enthusiasm helped them earn a very special trip to Cadbury World, where we continued our chocolate adventure and discovered even more about the world of chocolate!

We are incredibly proud of the children's enthusiasm, creativity and hard work this term. We cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
