At Lyppard Grange we teach using a CPA approach. Throughout the school,  children are encouraged to use concrete and pictorial representations to support abstract work.

In Year 3 the children use place value counters, Numicon and Base Ten (Dienes) to support their learning about Place Value and formal written methods for addition and subtraction.

In Year 6 the children use Base Ten (Dienes) to support their understanding of Fractions, Decimals and Percentages
