Faraway Tree

What a brilliant start to Year One!

Over the past couple of weeks, we have had some unexpected visitors popping in and out of our roleplay area. Silky the fairy, Mr Moonface, Dame Washalot and Mr Saucepan Man from The Faraway Tree have all been in to help us with our learning and when we have least expected it!

When Silky came to visit, she forgot to bring us her ‘pop cakes’ but she sent us her recipe, down the slide, later in the week. So we have been busy measuring ingredients to make our own ‘pop cakes’. Did you enjoy tasting our creations?

Some of the other activities the children have enjoyed include painting characters of their own and making a collage of the tree to bring more excitement to the story. They have been acting out their adventures at the top of the tree and imagining the lands that might be in the clouds… This week is the Land of Magic! We have also been improving our English skills by using exciting adjectives to describe our new friends and their homes and in Maths, the Naughty Pixie has been stealing some of our counting toadstools and leaving us with challenges to complete to get them back. Our friend Mr Moonface kindly returned them back to us!

Anyway, that is the story so far… We look forward to seeing you all at our Year One workshop on Thursday October 10th at 6pm.
