Friday 12th February

HAPPY FRIDAY!

AND HAPPY HALF-TERM!

We are extremely proud of how hard you have worked this half term Year 2.

Home learning has been a huge challenge for us all and we have all overcome it. Over the past few weeks you have built up great resilience, adaptability and perseverance and you can officially say

'I AM A HOME LEARNING PRO!'

Give yourselves a pat on the back and take the next week to have some well deserved rest (both children and parents).

See you soon!laugh

TIMES TABLE ROCK STARS

Well done to everyone who took part in the Times Tables Rock Stars battle! You are all super and must be getting so good at your times tables.

The final results were:

Miss Bevand's class: 258

Miss Roger's class: 153

Well done to Miss Bevand's class for their second big win!

After half term we will be taking on Year 3 in a battle between all 4 classes!

Rocksteady's Live Lesson

Today is Rocksteady's 'Feel Good Friday' lesson! Click the link below at 1.30 to join in with the lesson. It's lots of fun!

Reading

Yesterday we leap frogged through our story 'The Bear and the Piano' and really looked in on the bears feelings throughout the story didn't we? Hopefully you also had a chance to complete the little activity exploring different adjectives you could use to describe the bear's feelings.

Today we would like you to use the discussion and activity from yesterday to create a feelings thermometer. Use the thermometer to pin point how positive/negative the bear was feeling during different parts in the story.

Computing

It's time to send your email! Use your draft from yesterday to type up your email. Watch the video which explains how to send your email. Remember to CC Miss Bevand or Miss Rogers in.

Maths

Today you are going to put your knowledge of pictograms to the test! We have a very exciting task for you today.

You are going to be creating... YOUR VERY OWN PICTOGRAM! laugh

Your task is to create your own data and use it to make a pictogram using '2Count' on 'Purple Mash'.

Once you have created your own pictogram, Print Screen your pictogram into Word and write your own questions about your pictogram from others (or yourself) to answer.

These are the buttons you need to press on your keyboard in order to 'Print Screen'

Watch the video below where Miss Rogers will show you how to access and use 2 Count.

Enjoy!!laugh

Number Magic

As it's the last day of before half term, we would like you to choose your favourite maths game to play on Education City for your warm up.

P.E

Today is P.E day! We have given you a link to a Joe Wicks workout to complete at home. As always, if you would prefer to do a different activity, feel free to do so.

Golden Time!

It's Friday today, which means... GOLDEN TIME!!!!

Take out some time out of your learning day to spend at least 30 minutes doing something you love. This could be reading a book, playing a game, playing with your favourite toy, spending time with your family, going for a walk, playing with your pet, spending some time outside, etc.

Story

Today we are reading Chapter 7 of Toto the Ninja Cat! Go to the Video Resource Centre to find the video. It is a long video so don't feel the need to listen to it all in one go, you can listen to some over half term too. We find out why Brian escaped from the zoo in this chapter!
