Week Six

Hello Year 2,

We hope that you had a lovely bank holiday weekend and that you had fun celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Did any of you decorate your houses with flags and bunting? We hope that you also learnt a little bit about what VE Day was and why it was so special. I’m sure lots of you have some interesting facts to share when we ‘meet again’!

Thank you to all those who took to Twitter to share the strange insects that you spotted around your houses and gardens! We absolutely loved seeing your fantastic work and were impressed (as always) by how creative you all are!

We’ve prepared lots of new and exciting home learning tasks for you this week. We think that you will particularly enjoy making a 3D shape junk model (see the maths practical activity) and creating your own comic strip (see the writing tasks). As always, we would love to see your finished pieces of work and you can share it with us on Twitter by tagging @LyppardSchool.

It has been lovely to have a chat to you and hear what you have been up to. We’re very proud to hear that lots of you have been having a really good go at your home learning whilst also having fun, which is so important. Miss Bevand still has a few phone calls left to make, so don’t worry if you still haven’t heard from her; she’ll be calling soon!

We’re thinking of you, we’re proud of you and we’re missing you. Keep smiling!

Miss Bevand, Mrs Tilley, Mrs Carrier, Mrs Baldwin and Miss Davis xx
