Ivan's Land - The Land of Ice and Snow!

When we returned from our October half term holiday we were amazed to find that our classrooms had been transformed into a 'Land of Ice and Snow'.

Whoever, or whatever, had achieved this transformation had left us some clues. We used the clues to develop our skills of observation and inference by noticing lots of things,wondering about who or what left the items there, how they left them and why. We asked lots of questions.

Lots of us thought it was Father Christmas, other people thought it had something to do with Elsa, or the Snow Queen from 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'.

We then opened a special present that had been left for us, it contained a copy of 'Ice Palace' by Robert Swindells. Over the rest of the half term we read the book and discovered that lots of the items belonged to the main character, or were linked to the story.

There were lots of other tasks for us to complete that had been inspired by the book.
