The Lyppard Grange Primary School Empowering children to be secure, engaged and equipped for life.

w/c 18.6.21

For the next few weeks we are going to be revising spelling patterns which you have learned across your time in KS2. To help you with this we have provided several links to videos on the BBC website. Watch each one and then come up with a list of 5 words which have each spelling pattern, which you think it would be helpful for you to learn. You may need to use an online dictionary to help you with this. By the end you should have a list of 20 words to practise.

Maths-

After a week of designing your own 'Lunar Park', we would like you to create a PowerPoint which will be presented in a 'Dragon's Den' style. Using your 'Lunar Park' activity packs which you have taken home with you today, you now have all the relevant information to complete this activity. Your aim is to convince 'the Dragons' to invest money into your theme park. Your PowerPoint must be persuasive and explain all the Mathematical costings you have calculated this week:

  • How much your park will cost to run daily ( don't forget staff and maintenance)
  • How much profit and loses your park makes in a day, week, month and year
  • How much ticket entrance will be?
  • How much have you spent on advertisement?
  • How much money are you wanting 'The Dragons' to invest?

You must also include a brief overview of your park - How many major/minor rides? Toilets/ car park?

  • The rough size of your park
  • What makes it special? (Does it have a lake, shops, cafes, restaurants or any themed attractions/areas?)
  • What your park has to offer and why should you be considered to receive the investment?

'The Dragons' are very much looking forward to hearing your pitches!

Maths-

There is also a battle between both Year 6 classes on TTRS if you wish to compete.
