Writing

Writing

We hope you enjoyed creating a setting description of the Titanic last week. This week, we are starting to look at a new theme: magical and mythical creatures. This theme allows for so much fun and creativity – we cannot wait to see what you create.

Creative Activity

As we are starting to look at magical and mythical creatures, we would like you to create your own creature. You may want to do this by drawing it out or find another way to do this – it is completely up to you. We have attached a document with some examples to help inspire you.

Writing Task 1

For your first writing task, we would like you to create a non-chronological report about your new creature that you should have designed as part of the creative activity. In the document below, you will find an example and success criteria for your relevant level.

Writing Task 2

For your second writing task, we would like you to create a diary entry from the point of view of your creature. This piece of writing should really allow us to see exactly what the creature is like and how they react to the things going on around them. In the document below, you will find an example and success criteria for your relevant level.
