The Lyppard Grange Primary School Empowering children to be secure, engaged and equipped for life.

Smart Trees

After receiving a glittery red envelope from Santa, the children were thrilled to discover they had been invited to Smart Trees to visit him in his grotto – their first school trip! The Elephants and Crocodiles worked very hard beforehand writing letters to Santa explaining what they wanted for Christmas.

On the day, we wrapped up warm, put on our wellies and set off. We met Santa’s helpers who explained we had a new field to explore this year with some baby trees in it along with the giant trees. Santa’s helpers gave each group a map to follow explaining that we needed to find the numbers hidden in between the rows of trees.  Next to each number was a letter.  Once we had found all the letters they would spell out a Christmas themed word

Then it was time to enter the grotto! The children posted their letters, met and stroked the reindeer, sat in Santa’s sleigh and made a wish in a wishing well. Finally, it was time to meet Santa!

After lunch we decorated some Christmas trees with sparkly tinsel and then went on a very bumpy tractor trail.  We just had time to play to have a quick play in the adventure playground. It was wet and muddy but we had a fantastic time!

We had a fabulous time at Smart Trees. The children were fantastic ambassadors for the school, listening to all the adults, incredibly well behaved and very polite. Despite being tired and muddy, the children went home with big smile and a present from Santa too!
