Thursday

Theme- Writing

Join us at 9am where we will be looking at writing a setting description of the garden next door. If you usually use sentence starters to help your writing, we have attached these below. Within this session we will revise the features and create a model write.

Theme- Music

Today, we are going to be conducting some music appreciation. This is a vital skill when working musically as it allows you to evaluate and understand pieces of music in your own way.

You will need to think about:

  • Rhythm: the repeated pattern within a piece of music
  • Tempo: the speed of a piece of music
  • Harmony: combination of musical instruments to produce a pleasing sound
  • Dynamics: varying levels of volume in a piece of music

You will also need to click the link below to listen to the piece and then fill in the appreciation sheet. Please try and wow us with the images that it creates in your head.

SPaG

Today for SPaG, you need to complete the activity on commas for clarity. This will help you with you writing task this week. You have been allocated this activity on Bug Club. You will need to log in and complete the commas for clarity activity. Once you have done this we would like you to write a sentence that includes a list that wouldn't have the same meaning if the comma was missing. Here is an example:

I walked to my local shop and I bought chocolate, cake and some lemonade.

If the comma was missing I would be buying chocolate cake not chocolate and cake! Here it is without the comma:

I walked to my local shop and I bought chocolate cake and some lemonade.

PSHCE

Today we will have an additional session at 11am to discuss our PSHCE topic. Our lesson today will focus on bullying including what bullying is and how we can play a role in preventing it.

Number Magic

You need to complete your relevant level for Number Magic. If you want to challenge yourself, try completing the next level instead.
