Maths

Dear Year Two,

This week we are learning about length.  We will be using millimetres, centimetres and metres when measuring this week.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a ruler at home as there are templates of rulers and metre sticks for you to print.  There is also a conversion chart which shows you how many millimetres there are in a centimetre and how many centimetres there are in a metre.

Read through the Powerpoint, which shows you how to use a ruler correctly, before you start measuring.

Day 2 Measuring in centimetres

Day 3 Using centimetres and metres

Remember that when you do Number Magic you can dip into questions from the other levels. It’s always good to challenge yourself!  Below is rhyme that can help you work out how to solve problems with missing numbers.

This game will consolidate your knowledge of measuring in centimetres.
