"I've got a Golden Ticket ..."
...and how pleased we all were that we had! The Yr 3/4 performance of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ was marvellous. The acting was superb - every child embraced the character they had been given and remained in role from beginning to end, lines were learned by heart and clearly spoken as were stage directions. Dance routines, choreographed by the children, were in perfect time, and the singing, as usual, warmed the heart. It was a huge team effort with even the props and lighting being executed by children. Most notable, though, was the enjoyment oozing from the children. They brimmed with confidence and smiles which was a joy to behold. Comments from parents included, “...such talent...”, “...a great show...”, ...so clearly enjoying themselves...”, “...the confidence...it’s easy to forget they’re just 7, 8 and 9 years old.” A huge well done to every child! Thanks also to the staff for their hard work - performances like this don’t just happen but by making it part of the curriculum it evolved in just three short weeks. One parent said, “...the teachers haven’t just taught those children, they’ve inspired them!” Thank you also to the handful of parents who gave up their time to serve refreshments, sell raffle tickets, take tickets on the door and clear away after each performance. We are very grateful for your help.
