  • "Just sing..."

    Fri 05 Feb 2016
Singing is a huge part of life at Lyppard Grange and hearing the whole school sing together in the hall is one of the things that warms hearts the most as it filters out through the windows and doors. But in addition to singing in assemblies there are also opportunities for children to take part in extra-curricular activity as well. Our Key Stage 2 choir is thriving, and as well as singing at school they also go out and about to entertain others, performing at the Victorian Fair and Tesco as well as visiting St Richard’s Hospice and Perry Manor Care Home. Both of our Key Stage choirs and our Musical Theatre group have also taken part in the ‘Express Yourself’ concerts held by Mrs Russell at Tudor Grange Academy and we also take part in Young Voices at the Genting Arena every year. A parent of the school has been so impressed by the performances given that he has very generously offered to buy a set of t-shirts for the choir members to wear when performing and this is where we need your help to design the logo.

If you would like to find out more about singing at school click on some of the links below:

For Young Voices 2016 and to see the making of our Christmas CD film (created by our very own Mr Miles).

Please note that Key Stage 2 choir is now moving to a Friday lunchtime, due to other staff commitments on a Wednesday.

  • “Follow the yellow brick road…”

    Fri 05 Feb 2016

...or in our case, the red brick path! Things are progressing well at the front of school; the new fencing has provided the EYFS children with a much larger space for their outdoor classroom and the path will allow access to EYFS and Y1 classrooms at the start and end of each day. And, in answer to your questions, yes, the path is wide enough for a double buggy!

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your cooperation whilst this work is being undertaken.
