• Carol Service Important Information

  We are pleased to let you know that we have been able to give everyone the tickets they requested. These have been allocated on a first-come first-served basis. A number of families did not return their forms. If this was you and you would still like to attend there are still a few tickets remaining. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU BRING YOUR TICKET TO THE CAROL SERVICE. The number on your ticket corresponds to the number on your chair.

  Please note that seats 1-84 and 401-404 are situated in the main church (turn right through the glass doors once inside the main entrance) and seats 85-400 are situated in the main hall (directly in front of you once you have entered the building). School staff and church volunteers will be on hand to help you locate your seat on arrival.

  A parent has questioned why this event is now being ticketed. There are several reasons for this; the first is to ensure everyone has a seat for the service, the second is to ensure emergency exits remain clear, the third is to limit the amount of queuing required by parents - hopefully you won’t feel the need to arrive early in order to secure a seat, and this in turn should make it easier for staff to escort the children safely into and around the church building. At the end of the service you will be given instructions on how to collect your children. Again we ask for your cooperation so that we can ensure that all children are dismissed safely. If you are not attending the service and wish your child to be returned to school at the end of the day please ensure that you have informed their class teacher. We ask for your support before, during and at the end of the event to make it as enjoyable as possible for everyone. Thank you. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

• Singing Superstars

  On Friday we recorded our very first Christmas CD. The hall was turned into a recording studio and excitement filled the air. We were incredibly proud of the children on two counts; their behaviour was fabulous and the visiting producer commended the children on this, “You have a great school here! The children are really well-behaved but haven’t had their cheekiness and sparkle squashed”, and the singing was beautiful. The children kept in time, articulated the lyrics clearly, watched their conductors closely and carried off harmonies to perfection.

  The CD features twelve Christmas songs that are favourites of the children rather than traditional tunes. Every child took part; there are some whole school numbers, some performed just by Key Stage 2 and some by our Key Stage 2 choir. A couple of soloists appear as well. If you would like to buy one or more CDs to cherish or give away as gifts this Christmas, please return the order form with the correct payment by WEDNESDAY 9th DECEMBER 2015. This will ensure delivery before the end of term. CDs are priced at £8.50 each. Please make cheques payable to Lyppard Grange Primary School Fund.
