  • Carol Service

    Wed 10 Dec 2014
Don’t forget that our Carol Service takes place at Woodgreen Evangelical Church on Friday 12th December at 2:15pm. Doors will open for parents at 1:45pm as soon as all of the children are in situ. All EYFS and KS1 children will be transported from school by coach and all KS2 children will walk to the church under the supervision of staff. Following the service all children can be collected from the church—thank you to all of you who have completed the form with collection details—and those needing to come back to school will be transported by coach at the end of the service. We are thoroughly looking forward to this event including all of our children this year and hope to see many of you there.
  • A Surprise for Santa

    Wed 10 Dec 2014

Our Y1 pupils gave us wonderful start to Christmas with their performance, ‘A Surprise for Santa’. This term the children have been working in close collaboration with the elves to help reignite the Christmas spirit in Santa (who is reported to have been feeling glum) by helping to design new toys. They then retold their story, as well as reporting on life back at Santa’s base camp, through a combination of drama, dance and song. Smiles were abundant as the children brought a little bit of Christmas magic to everyone who watched them. Well done to all of the children and staff who worked hard to create such an original and meaningful end to the children’s work.

  • What an opening!

    Wed 10 Dec 2014
A huge well done to all of our Y6 pupils (and their band of willing helpers) for organising and hosting a terrific opening event to celebrate the completion and occupation of their new block. It was really well attended and fun was had by all. Children went home carrying new cuddly friends won on the teddy tombola and adults nurtured bottles gained on their adult only version. Burgers sold out, quickly followed by hot dogs, but warm fruit punch and hot chocolate decked with cream and marshmallows kept the cold abay whilst the spectacular fireworks filled the air. But by far the biggest attraction was the new block. The queue for tours, led by our very keen and informative team of tour guides from Y5/6, was by far the longest of the night, as you streamed in your multitudes to get a closer look at the long awaited new building. There are three people, in addition to the children, parents and staff, who need a particular mention for taking on the organisation of this event— Claire Vickers, Lou Norwood and Nikki Embley have given hours of their own time, working both with and alongside the children, to ensure the event was well prepared, safe and enjoyable. A MASSIVE THANK YOU!!!
  • The Inclusivity Games

    Wed 10 Dec 2014
A group of 11 children, from Y5/6, were given the unique opportunity to try out some very different sports events last Monday, when they attended an Olympic style event at the University of Worcester Arena. The event was aimed at demonstrating to children that sport can be an inclusive activity and so our lucky few were given the chance to take part in ‘Sitting Volleyball’, ‘Blindfold Football’, ‘Kneeling Curling’ and, their all time favourite, ‘Wheelchair Basketball’ which involved some incredibly fast cornering and speedy sprints down the court. All the children had a great time and came back to school bubbling with excitement; three of them managed to help their team to come second and received a silver medal for their efforts! Well done everybody.
