All is quiet on the building front at the moment. The preparatory work was finished well ahead of schedule and the next stint of activity is scheduled for January.
During October half-term Kier Construction busily erected their first fences around the perimeter of the school to separate their building site from the working school in as safe a way as possible for all concerned.
Pupils and staff returned to school on Monday 4th November to find many changes already: the builders have created an access road for their site, have set up their 'base' in the staff car park and have removed the old mobile classroom and the PE store. We now also have a one-way system in place around the outside of the school for parents & pupils arriving at school in the mornings before school starts and again at the end of the school day.
Kier Construction's Site Manager for our project and their appointed Health & Safety Manager both came into school first thing on Monday morning to give the pupils and staff a safety briefing assembly and an opportunity for pupils to ask whatever questions that they wanted to enable us all to find out more about this exciting building project for our school ... and how to keep safe.
