Writing

We hope you enjoyed creating an information text and newspaper report on the Titanic last week. This week, we are continuing looking at the Titanic and its journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Read on to find out what you will be writing about.

Writing Task 1

For your first writing task, we would like you to write an informal letter from the perspective of a survivor of the Titanic. This letter should use informal language and really show just how happy and grateful they are to be alive. In the document below, you will find success criteria and an example that will help you with this task.

Writing Task 2

For your second writing task, we would like you to create a character description of the ship’s captain. In the document below, you will find success criteria and an example that will help you with this task.

Creative Activity

As we are continuing our work on the Titanic, we would like you see if you can create your own floating ship. Once you have done this, you need to try load it with coins to see at which point it sinks. We have attached a document with an example and links to help you with this.
