World Book Day March 4th 2021
Well done Year 3, you've completed a whole half term of remote learning. We're so very proud of you. Hopefully it won't be too long until we can all be together again. Have a great half term, you don't need to do any school work, apart from check on your cress!
So excited about this weeks Feel Good Friday with Rock Steady. The Rock History is the Foo Fighters!
Use the links below to log on live. Enjoy.
KS2 sessions run Friday from 2:00 – 2:30pm and you can click here or copy this url into your web browser or remote teaching platform https://youtu.be/qcGnNsX_Kv0
Band Leader Paul will cover:
TT Rockstars
You should spend at least 30 minutes practising your allocated times tables. The tournament finishes today at 4.30pm. Who will be the winners?
Today we are going to think about the way we start or open different sentences, this will mean that we can think about making our writing sound more interesting.
It can sound really monotonous and boring if everything starts using the same words and phrases.
Watch the video in the Video Resource Centre for today's lesson.
Then complete the task outlined at the end of it.
Maths
Today you are going to be measuring in centimetres and millimetres. Watch the video 'Maths Measuring Friday' in the Video Resource Centre before choosing a task to complete. There are teaching notes to accompany the video.
Today in whole class reading we are going to focus upon the Year 3 Target of 'Using a dictionary to find the meaning of unknown words'.
If you have a physical dictionary at home then it would be good to use it, as it will give you practise of using your knowledge of the alphabet to locate words.
If you don't, then the Collins Cobuild online dictionary (find the link below) will work just as well.
There is a video in the Video Resource Centre which talks you through the PowerPoint, this is included below too.
Then complete the tasks.
The most important to do after this is to then practise the skill when engaged in any kind of reading of your own.
Today we are going to continue to learn to count up to 20 in Spanish.
Watch the video in the Video Resource Centre. Use it to help you to learn the song - which older siblings will know if Mrs Griffith taught them Spanish and then complete the task.
It's Friday so the last activity of the day is Golden Time.
Find your favourite toy, or game, or other activity (try not to use a screen as you will have been on it all day, instead try something different) spend half an hour relaxing. If there is someone at home who is able to play too then reward them with Golden time as well! You all deserve it.
Happy Weekend!
Happy Half Term!
Enjoy your week away from home learning, go and do something different. Paint, draw, play games, use your imagination, bake, cycle, make music, have fun. We will see you in one week, refreshed and ready to show what you can do.
Stay Safe.
