The Lyppard Grange Primary School Empowering children to be secure, engaged and equipped for life.

Tuesday

Focus Activity - PSHCE

At school we would talk to the children about why they think Jigsaw Jack is upset. Draw out that Jack is unhappy/upset because somebody is bullying Jack but Jack is too embarrassed to say what is happening. The children would then suggest what might be happening to Jigsaw Jack and establish how this is making Jack feel and why. Discuss how they think they could help Jack. For example, tell an adult.

Have a look at the sheet below, adults can scribe if easier.

Peg Activity - Writing

Read the riddles and see if you can work out which underwater creature is being described. You could email us your guesses and then have a go at writing your own riddle for us to try and solve.

Lolly Activity - Maths

Have a go at these addition and subtraction number sentences. Remember to use your number line when completing the challenges.

Focus Activity - Phonics

During the morning briefing the children will have flicked through the previously taught digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words.

Can you work out the real and nonsense words with the oy sound? Colour the real words in one colour and the nonsense words in a different colour. After you have done that, have a go at making a few silly sentences using real 'oy' words.

Focus Activity - Tricky Words

We are going to have a go at practising some of our tricky words. We are going to give you a word a day to practise. Today your tricky word is find.

Choose one of the options, or anything you can find at home, and write the tricky word for today using that resource. See how many times you can write the word in a minute! Then choose 3 more resources and rewrite find using;

  1. Rainbow writing
  2. Sand, flour, rice
  3. Paint
  4. Water
  5. Mud
  6. Chalk
  7. Glitter
