This morning Dr Rose sent us a box of fruit with a letter attached and photographs inside.
Focus Activity - Writing
Have a go at describing the fruit and vegetables you can see in the photographs Dr Rose sent. You could use the adjectives from the peg activity if you would like to.
Please create your sentences like we did in the modelled writing session during the morning briefing, remembering your capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, conjunctions, tricky words and making sure all of your letters are formed correctly.
Here is a video showing parents how to do the writing process at home;
Peg Activity - Writing
Before you complete the focus writing activity, have a go at describing the fruits in the photographs below, we have added some adjectives to help you or you can describe using your own adjectives if you prefer.
Remember you can use more than one adjective, for example; a sweet spikey pineapple.
Lolly Activity - Maths
Use the part whole model to partition the numbers into tens and ones.
Focus Activity - Phonics
During the morning briefing the children will flick through previously taught digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words.
Have a go at the phoneme spotter below. Underline the words with the ‘er’ sound in and sort them into ‘er’, ‘ur’ and ‘ir’. Can you spot a pattern? Are there any words that make the ‘er’ sound but don’t fit the ‘er’, ‘ur’ or ‘ir’ rule?
Focus Activity - Tricky Word
