This week's continent is... AFRICA!
Your challenge this week is to find out as much as you can about Africa through the tasks that we will be setting you. You can always complete extra research as well. Here are some links to an article and some videos to get you started.
Once you super stars have completed your research on Africa, you can fill in the next page of your passport! Remember to use your word mat to help you with your spelling.

Reading 
Today we are starting a new book called ‘The Ugly Five’ by Julia Donaldson. We would like you to complete four mini tasks for today’s lesson.
- Listen to Miss Bevand reading ‘The Ugly Five’ aloud.
- Listen to the explanation of the new vocabulary at the end of the video.
- Listen to the story again or read it for yourself. Can you spot the new vocabulary in the text and do the words make sense now?
- Practice reading the story aloud. Can you read it fluently and use some expression in your voice?

This week we are going to be creating our very own leaflet for an African Safari! We will explain more about this soon but for now, we would like you to focus on the features of an advertising leaflet.

Today we are starting to learn about division. Division is all to do with sharing.
We would like you to launch a division investigation! You will need to use objects around your house and find ways to share them equally. Have a look at the activity below.

SPAG – Spelling 
This week we are learning to spell words the have the ‘l’ sound spelled ‘el’ at the end of the word.
Today you need to work through the spelling flipchart activities. Get used to reading the words and practice spelling them.
