Ayopa

In Year 5 we have started our brand new theme – Ayopa (Ag-ora). This theme came about when an ‘enterprise company’ sent Mr Jackson an email over the summer asking our school to take part in a brand new challenge inviting the children to find out about a different culture and then create a variety of different products to then sell at a later date. However, the email was corrupted and the children had the task of investigating which country our project would be based on. Luckily, thanks to their amazing problem solving skills and resilience they were able to work out that we are focusing on Ancient Greece. We began by researching Greece’s location and used atlases and maps to help us locate it and its surrounding countries whilst also discovering the various climate zones surrounding the area. The children are all incredibly excited to continue to learn about the Groovy Greeks and cannot wait to begin creating their products to sell.
