Pop-up Greek Taverna!

After an exciting few weeks learning all about Ancient Greece, children in Year 5 opened their doors to eager parents visiting our brand new pop-up Greek Taverna. The children worked exceptionally hard to research traditional Greek food in order to design and create their own food to serve in their new restaurant. The children learnt lots of practical kitchen skills and health and safety information. They made their own Greek kebabs, bread, dips and salads.

Additionally, the classrooms were transformed into superb blue and white restaurants, complete with placemats, menus and a variety of decorations.

As the parents arrived, they were greeted by a group of exuberant Year 5 children. They were welcomed in and asked to take their seats. The children became waiters and waitresses for the afternoon and attended to their guests’ needs.

The children all worked really hard to make this an enjoyable experience and learnt lots of new skills as well as interesting facts about Ancient Greece!
