P.E.

This half term our P.E. session will be on a Thursday and will be outdoors.  Therefore children will need their outdoor P.E. kits.  This should consist of  black or green tracksuit bottoms, a white t-shirt, a black or green track suit top and trainers.  

KIRFS - Key Instant Recall of Facts

Each half term children have KIRFs to practise.  Last half term's was to read and write numbers to 1,000,000.  This half term's is to identify multiples and factors including finding all factor pairs of a number and common factors of two numbers. The only way to have an instant recall of these is to practise, practise, practise!   The sheets above give examples of the KIRFs.  Please help your child to practise these at home.

Reading

Children should read for at least 20 minutes every day and record their reading activity in their Reading  Journal.  Reading Journals and reading books should be brought into school every day.

Maths Challenge:

Children should practise their allocated times tables on TTRock Stars for at least 30 minutes.

Congratulations to Mrs Tilley's class who won the half term battle. Well done to all the children who took part in it, great team work Year 5!  Congratulations to Miss Campbell's class on winning the first battle of this half term.

Theme Homework:

This week in SPaG, children have been learning about relative clauses.  Below is a guide to relative clauses and relative pronouns.  For homework children should complete one of the tasks below.  Homework should be handed in by Wednesday 9th November.

Mr Hattersley, our cornet teacher has set both classes up with logins to the website Charanga. Children will be able to find and practise the songs we have learnt in class, on this website.  You were emailed the login details this week and you can also find them below.
