This task should take about an hour, including the video.
Today we are going to continue to work with money. On Friday we started to work on finding change using a 'change line' and counting on, like an old fashioned shop keeper.
This has proved challenging for some of you, but it is quite an efficient method, which supports calculating it mentally as well.
Watch the video lesson - Maths Money Day 6, to help further support your understanding.
Then complete the tasks below.
Reading tasks should take about half an hour.
To complete this task to the depth it needs to be done you will need to work on it over two days. Start the task today and complete it on Wednesday.
We have now read through Ice Palace Chapter 2 twice, once for pleasure and the second time to gain a deeper understanding of the authors intentions and the effect it has upon us as the reader.
You are now going to use the text again to find out about the emotions and motivations of the main character Ivan.
Read, or listen to the chapter again. Then use this to track Ivan's feelings at the key points in the chapter, the scale falls between incredibly positive emotions (such as happy, excited, optimistic, hopeful, brave, resilient etc) to really intense negative emotions (such as sad, lonely, ready to give up, depressed etc). You will need to provide evidence as to why you think he feels the way that he does at each point in the story.
The task uses a feelings graph/thermometer, which you have used many times before in school.
Theme - Character description
This week we will be looking at a character description of the Snow Queen. Watch today's video in the video resource centre 'The Snow Queen Part 1 Monday'. If you don't have a printer at home then simply write a list of the different features on a piece of paper. This task should take no more than 30 minutes, including watching the video.
Spelling
This week we are continuing our work on prefixes.
If we were at school then this afternoon we would be taking part in an hour long PE session.
It is very important that you take a break from the other school activities and get active. There are some suggestions here to help you develop particular PE based skills, but if you have other ideas - such as long walk , bicycle ride, basket ball game then please do that instead, or as well!
Below you will find a link to the This is PE website - complete Lesson 2 - footwork patterns and Lesson 6 - Jumping in combination.
If you would like to have another go at last weeks tennis challenges then take a look again at Lesson 1 - I know lots of you found that fun.
We have also included links to some Cosmic Yoga as we know lots of you like to do that, as well as the link for Maths on the Move.
You could also complete a Joe Wicks PE lesson if you wish.
