Focus Activity - PSHCE

Please read the story about Jigsaw Jack with your child and then complete the activity at the end, adult to scribe if easier.

Peg Activity - Writing

Taste test

In school, we are going to taste some fruit and have a go at describing it. At home you can do the same. Maybe you could even try something you haven't tasted before! Describe the taste using your senses (sight, touch, smell and taste). Draw what you are eating and write your description around it e.g. the orange looks round and smooth, it tastes sweet and juicy, it smells like orange it feels bumpy and soft.

Lolly Activity - Maths

The numbers have been partitioned into tens and ones. Can you work out what they are?

Focus Activity - Phonics

During the morning briefing the children will flick through previously taught digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words.

Using the picture cards below, have a go at spelling the words using the 'Does it look right? strategy'.

For example; your child should write;

  1. berthday
  2. burthday
  3. birthday

Focus Activity - Tricky Word

We are going to have a go at practising some of our tricky words. We are going to give you a word a day to practise. Today your tricky word is clothes.

Choose one of the options, or anything you can find at home, and write the tricky word for today using that resource. See how many times you can write the word in a minute! Then choose 3 more resources and rewrite clothes using;

  1. Rainbow writing
  2. Sand, flour, rice
  3. Paint
  4. Water
  5. Mud
  6. Chalk
  7. Glitter
