All children are entitled to a broad, balanced and rigorous curriculum. At The Lyppard Grange Primary School, our curriculum is designed to 'empower children to be secure, engaged and equipped for life.' This is underpinned by a commitment to develop a range of learning behaviours in all our children. We have long-term plans in place designed to both fulfil our vision and to ensure that we offer children a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum.
Curriculum Aims ‘Aiming to empower children to be secure, engaged and equipped for life’

In all classes, much of the work is built around a planned theme, which may be the focus of a half-term’s work and incorporate several subject areas. This cross-curricular approach allows a more coherent and integrated system of teaching and learning to take place. However, there are many instances where certain aspects of a subject do not fall conveniently under a theme and these elements are taught discretely.
Regardless of theme, our curriculum has clear progression and continuity, ensuring children learn subject specific knowledge, skills and understanding. It is our fervent aim to ensure that they have the opportunity to begin to develop towards being competent and confident artists, geographers, historians, designers, musicians, sportsmen and sportswomen, mathematicians, readers and authors.
