Over the last two weeks children have been learning how to change adjectives into adverbs. They have learnt two spelling rules to be able to do this.
1. If the adjective has two syllables and ends in 'y' then you take away the 'y' replace it with an 'i' and then add 'ly' e.g. happy = happily, hungry = hungrily.
2. If the adjective has two syllables and ends in 'le' then you take away the 'le' and add 'ly' e.g. gentle = gently, simple =simply
Children should practise changing these adjectives into adverbs, there will be a spelling check on 11th June when children will be given five words from each spelling rule to spell.
happy merry hungry greedy angry easy fussy funny crazy heavy noisily guilty lazy

Children should practise their times tables by spending at least 30 minutes on Times Table Rock Stars.
The tournament finished on Thursday evening. Congratulations to Mrs Tilley's class who were the resounding winners!
Well done to all the children who took part.
There will be another tournament after half term.
Children should choose a book from Bug Club to read and complete the 'bugs' as they go.
