Tuesday

Focus activity - Science

Let's help Dr Rose and Manu! We can group the animals by classifying them as mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. Use the information from the videos to help you sort the rainforest animals into these categories. It's up to you how you present this you could print the photos and sort them into groups or you could draw/write them into a table.

Peg Activity - writing

Watch the videos:

What are mammals? - BBC Bitesize

What are amphibians? - BBC Bitesize

What are birds? - BBC Bitesize

What are fish? - BBC Bitesize

What are reptiles? - BBC Bitesize

What are minibeasts? - BBC Bitesize

These will help you learn about the different characteristics that make an animal a mammal, amphibian, bird, fish, reptile or minibeast.

Lolly Activity - Maths

Count the number of each type of rainforest creature and write the numeral in the box.

Focus activity - Phonics

During the morning briefing the children will flick through the previously taught digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words.

Have a go at using the ‘Does it look right? strategy’ to help you spell the words below. Remember to phonetically spell and use your robot arms to help you.

Additional activity

Go back to the story video from yesterday. Listen to it again. Can you add some actions or dance moves to show what you are hearing?
