Settling In

In their first few weeks in Year 1, the Turtles and Dolphins have settled in brilliantly. They have adapted to new routines, but have also remembered all of the rules and routines in Crocodiles and Elephants.

When the children first arrived at school a magical tree appeared in the role play area. Since then, we have had a visit from Mr Moonface and Dame Washalot who have set us lots of new challenges. The children have been really excited and full of enthusiasm, coming in everyday to see what new challenges await them.

The children have also made a great start at forest school. Last week we started our forest school session by hunting for fairy magic hidden amongst the trees. We then explored the woodland by completing bark rubbings, using mirrors to look at the treetops and making a whole class picture using things we collected that had fallen from the trees. We all had lots of fun.
