Homework 2nd July 2021

This week we have been recapping our knowledge of 2D shapes and their properties.  Children have been set 2Dos on Purple Mash that will consolidate their knowledge of lines of symmetry and the properties of 2D shapes.  You can access Purple Mash through SIMS ID on the school website.  Once logged on, click on the bell symbol which will take you to the tasks that have been set. Homework should be completed by Wednesday 7th July.

Our final TT Rock Stars' tournament of this year has ended and ... Team Tilley have kept a clean sheet with another resounding win!  Well done to everyone who took part.  Although the tournament has ended, you should still spend 30 minutes practising  your times tables.

There are lots of books for you to read on Bug Club; make sure you complete the Bugs as you go so that we can see how well you have understood the text.

Over the past two weeks we have been using prefixes which mean 'not' - these prefixes are 'im', 'ir', 'il' and 'in'.

Your homework is to apply the correct prefix to the following root words and then to learn how to spell each of the words you have created ready for the Spelling Challenge on Friday. Who can score 10 out of ten? Which class will be the victors in the final Spelling Challenge?

Here are the root words:

patient      regular       active      legal       capable       accurate       perfect         mobile       direct   responsible     polite    correct

Rules:

When a root word starts with ‘l’, the prefix used to turn the word into a negative is il- rather than in-.

When a root word starts with ‘r’, the prefix used to turn the word into a negative is ir- rather than im-.

When a root word starts with 'm' or 'p' the prefix used to turn the word into a negative is im-.
