Week 6

Hi Year 6,

We have been inspired this week by nature and our wonderful local environment; many experts are talking of the positive benefits which nature can have on our health and mental well-being. You will find links to nature in both your writing and maths tasks this week. We hope you enjoy the creative activity to inspire your writing and remember, you can share pictures of these with us by asking your parents to tweet us using @LyppardSchool.

Remember, just do what you can and don't worry if something is a bit tricky or you find it difficult to fit it into your week. Keeping happy and relaxed is so important. If you are looking for any other ideas of activities to do, remember to keep checking the Useful Websites page which is updated regularly. Also, Miss Bird is adding daily challenges to the P.E. Useful Links page which our sports coaches have created - why not give them a go!

It has been fantastic to hear about all the exciting things you have been getting up to; it's amazing how creative you have been in finding things to do within your home and during your daily exercise! We have been keeping busy as well with some DIY: Miss Taylor is incredibly proud that she resealed her kitchen sink all by herself and Mrs Groves assembled a storage unit by herself too! We've also been making sure we keep active: Mrs Groves has started running again (even though she's very slow and needs a lie down at the end!) and Miss Taylor has calculated that since lockdown begun, she has walked an amazing grand total of 180 miles!

We are all missing you loads still and think of you all every day. Have a wonderful week,

Mrs Groves, Miss Taylor, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Robinson, Mrs Saul-Clayton and Mrs Brookes xxx
