This year Lyppard Grange children have taken part in activities that have earned us points towards the Woodland Trust Green Tree Awards. In the Spring term we were awarded Bronze and Silver and in the Summer term we received our Gold certificate and wooden plaque. Below are some of the activities that earned us points towards the awards.
We provided evidence of all the things we recycle in school:
paper
ink cartridges
batteries
school uniform
used pens
fruit and vegetable peel that is turned into compost
Year 2 visited Lower Smite Farm and took part in some activities in the woodland there.
The Eco Committee confidently delivered a KS2 assembly about 'The man who planted trees'.
Mrs Tilley ordered 15 free trees from the Woodland Trust and children from gardening club planted them in the school grounds.
Year 5 created some tree champions as part of their homework.
The slide show below shows some of the evidence for these activities. You can also see copies of the certificates we have earned. Our next goal is to achieve the Platinum Award!
