As we are sure you are all aware, it is the 75th anniversary of VE Day this week, on Friday 8th May. Back in 1945, this was a chance for everyone around the country to celebrate the end of the war in Europe and is now a time to both celebrate and remember all of the sacrifices that were made on our behalf during World War 2. However, because we all have to stay at home at the moment, the festivities will look slightly different this year. Usually this event is marked by street parties, but as these cannot happen we thought we would give you the opportunity to create your own VE Day celebration at home, if you wanted to. Here you will find some suggested creative activities that you may want to have a go at this week, but there is no pressure to do any of them. Your writing tasks are also linked to VE Day and you will probably find it helpful to complete your reading comprehension activity about VE Day first, as well as watch this video on the BBC website.
