The children have had a very exciting start to Year 4! During an ordinary visit to forest school, we discovered two mysterious eggs which were carefully placed inside a labelled box. The children were so excited and couldn’t wait to find out more about what they might be and where they had come from.
After closely examining the box, we discovered that the eggs were meant to have been posted to Professor Dugald A. Steer, who we contacted straight away! We posted the eggs on to ensure they receive proper incubation and have since found out that the eggs were indeed dragon eggs, as we suspected. The children have since received a copy of Professor Steer’s book ‘Dragonology’, along with several challenges. So far we have used atlases to learn about the physical geography of Scandinavian countries and have even designed our own dragons in order to create our very own Dragonology book!
We are extremely proud of our Year 4 children for such a fantastic start to the year. They have demonstrated many of our learning values already, in particular curiosity and teamwork and have adapted to Year 4 life brilliantly. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for us.
