Maths

This week Year 2, we are recapping statistics.  In our Maths lessons, we looked at lots of different types of data from tally charts and pictograms to block diagrams.  Remember to look at the key of the pictogram or block diagram to check the value of the pictures and blocks before you start counting.

You can also practice the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division by completing your daily 5 a day - Number Magic.  Remember that addition and multiplication are commutive e.g.

4 + 5 = 9 and 5 + 4 = 9

3 x 9 = 27 and 9 x 3 = 27

Day One

We will start with Tally Charts.  Watch this video clip that explains how and why we use tally marks.

Day Three - Pictograms in 2s, 5s and 10s

Days four and five

For the rest of the week you will be handling and interpreting data.  Have a look at this video clip, which explains how to interpret data.
