What an enchanting start we’ve had to our new school year. It seems that someone has stolen the contents of a package that was meant to be delivered to Prince Charming. We have been helping the Fairy Tale police with investigating the crime scene after finding that the parcel had been ripped open. We discovered several strange clues including porridge oats, sticky syrup, a wooden spoon, giant footprints, a red cloak and even troll bogeys. We have been working hard, exploring the evidence and helping the Fairy Tale Police with their enquiries.
Who will the mystery culprit turn out to be?
Art
The children have been learning about the different techniques that they can use with clay, such as creating a slip which helps to join the clay. In the next couple of weeks we will be using our new skills to help us make some clay fairy tale figures.
Forest School
Our forest school sessions take place every Wednesday, either in the mornings or in the afternoon. This term, we have been focussing on fairy tales in forest school as well! Last week, we hunted for magical beans which we have planted in forest school and this week we’ve been building houses for the three little pigs.
Maths
We have begun learning about place value in maths and have been discovering the different concrete resources that we can use to show how many tens and ones are in a number. The children are becoming increasingly confident to do this independently.
