Launch of our new Theme - The Chocolate Challenge and Cooking our cakes!
What an exciting time we have been having in Year 3 since term began! On the first day back we were astounded to discover a confetti filled balloon with an envelope attached. We were very excited to pop it and then read the contents. We discovered that 'The Minister of Chocolate' has set us a challenge and will send us pieces of a ticket as we achieve each of his challenges. Our first and second challenges were to create a healthy chocolate cake and then write the recipe. We really enjoyed baking and tasting cakes containing a variety of fruits and vegetables including courgette, beetroot, apple, carrot and banana. We also enjoyed decorating our cakes with a variety of chocolatey toppings. Yum!
Once we have collected all the pieces of ticket, we will earn a visit by the Minister and a day of chocolate! We can't wait!
Art - Fabric of Nature
One of the challenges that we were set by the Minister of Chocolate was to create our own designs for 'lickable wallpaper', these were to be inspired by the artwork of William Morris. We used images from the Rainforest to help us find lots of ideas. We were so impressed with the results once we put all the panels together. We hope you like them too.
The Minister of Chocolate
We worked really hard to achieve each of the challenges set by the Minister of Chocolate. This meant that we managed to collect all the pieces of the Golden Ticket and won our visit! We had a fantastic time and learnt so much. The Minister was really impressed with our knowledge, enthusiasm and behaviour.
