Maths - Telling the Time
In Maths this week have started our new topic of time. We have looked at telling the time to o'clock, past the hour and to the hour. The children have also learnt that 15 minutes past the hour is the same as quarter past the hour, 30 minutes past the hour is the same as half past the hour and 15 minutes to the hour is the same as quarter to the hour.
For home work this week we would like the children to complete the telling the time activity.
It would also be a great idea to practise telling the time using an analogue clock (not a digital one) to tell the time in real life situations.
Sounds and Syllables
It is important that your child spends time learning the words given in this section of their homework as these words form part of the Statutory Spelling list for Year 3 and 4 and may well feature in future formal assessments.
They are also really useful words to know how to spell when writing.
Each week we are going to give you a five words from the Year 3/4 Statutory Spelling list, this is a list of spellings that you need to be able to spell accurately by the time you leave Year 4.
